A simple vegan royal icing recipe. Makes enough to ice 1 large gingerbread house.


  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 1/2 tbsp soy milk
  • 4 tsp golden corn syrup


  1. In a small bowl, beat together the powdered sugar and soy milk until smooth.
  2. Add the corn syrup and continue beating until thick and glossy.
  3. Separate into bowls and add food colouring if needed.
  4. Seal icing in an airtight container or cover with a damp cloth to prevent the icing from drying out.
