What You'll Need
- a shallow bowl or dish
- a marinade recipe (3 recipes below)
- 1 block of firm or extra-firm tofu, drained, and cut up
Directions
- Assemble your marinade.
- Place your drained and cut up tofu into your shallow dish.
- Cover with marinade, mixing slightly to coat the tofu without breaking it.
- Leave to marinate, covered, in the fridge for 1 to 12 hours. Strong marinades and smaller pieces of tofu with more surface area will require less marinating time. Milder marinades and larger pieces of tofu will require more time to marinate.
- After your tofu has marinated for sufficient time, it's time to cook! If you're going to sauté, fry, or grill your tofu, lightly blot off any extra marinade. If you're baking your tofu, you may leave marinade on to add flavor, if desired.
